What is Laser cutting
and why is it better?

Laser cutting is a technology utilizing a beam of high intensity light to cut material and is most commonly found in industrial manufacturing. By directing the output of a high power laser, material either melts, burns, or vaporizes away leaving a high quality finished surface.

Advantages of laser cutting over mechanical cutting vary according to the situation, but important factors include: lack of physical contact (there is no cutting edge which can become contaminated by the material or contaminate the material) and no wear on the laser.

There is also a reduced chance of warping the material being cut because laser systems have a small heat affected zone.
